I think that the 1.5 is the same engine - developed by GM and SAIC - that is fitted to the MG GS. It seems to perform well in the MG - 0 to 60 of 8.9 ses according to Autocar - better than most Tiguans.

Chinese engine??? Count me out :) Astra already has way too many parts with Chinese letters on them, probably one of the reasons why its so notoriously unreliable, but having a Chinese developed engine is way too much :)

Definitely like the look of the car. No comment about the engine! :)

Good looking car now, not as chunky or doughy as the current Insignia looks and hopefully will be backed up with some decent engines.

Boys and girls don't get ahead of yourself yet. The car may look nice, but do you know if they sorted out the rattles and squeaks. is it a sheep in wolf clothing or vice versus or a wolf in ? Work that one out. What abouts updates. Never buy the first batch. Same cycle same bs. Hmmmm I think not. If there is a new forum created for it. I will slag it off no end. Even if it nice. But I could be tempted by the new Astra vxr extreme. That up against the rs focus, that car is Satan 666. Lovely lovely lovely, but sadly no Apple CarPlay  if anyone driven a rs focus it like crystal meth meets heroin. I have no idea why I said that because I'm anti drugs but the rush is awesome. It's up there with sex well almost. You can easily climax in that car  what a rush

You have clearly not driven Subaru Impreza STI :) That car rapes Focus RS in every possible way :D
