Quite a few people got good things to say about the 200ps, I reckon you should go for it. You need an SRi of course so that you get the all important sport button.

Just beware of those pesky Elite owners who might look down on you. ;)

I have a 200ps on order, I had test driven a 150ps and that was very quick, can't wait to get my hands on mine when it finally arrives!

...and make sure you pick the right colour, there must be a colour pecking order too...

Is Emerald (Green) better than (Sovereign) silver? It is certainly better than (Soft) Bronze!

Ooops, what have I started ;) I know David has test driven a 1.6T and wasn't overly impressed with the performance until the salesman told him to press the sport button, that's all I meant. I also understand that David favours White, I tried to tell him he wanted Power Red but he's missed that boat now.

I own a 1.6t 200ps sports tourer, and the car is a rocket...

On my daily drive a drive with out the sport engaged, and the car serves me fine, quick and nimble around town, is quick on intersections, and easy to park, although its a big car

And when in need of some fun i´ll put it sport mode and hey presto, it accelerates like 2 rockets, it still wants to pull wheel spin in 2nd on acceleration.

The power steering is tightened, the throttles respons is instant.

Yes i know its white, but that was the option, when i didn´t order it from the factory, but bought it 2nd hand from the import company.

Test drove a 1.4t 150ps and found the engine TO noisy compared to the 1.6t i tested in a cascada same day.

All I can say is that I'm delighted with my 1.6T 200PS and I used to have a Subaru Impreza, so it certainly had something to live up to! :D :D

I have 1.4 t 150 ....comment on NOISY..absolute rubbish....very quiet engine in fact turn everything off in car ....you cannot hear engine ....and very smooth and quite on the road .
Check out ford 150 eco engine ...astra wins hands down. If 200bhp engine is quieter...I don't belive it.
