Just heard back from the garage. They are going to replace the flywheel as that's the fault. The clutch is fine, however if I want that changed I have to pay for it.

What do you recommend guys??

Sorry matt I should have made that clearer. Vauxhall are going to replace the flywheel under warranty :). However, if I want that clutch replaced I have to pay as its not "broken"

I always assumed if you changed one you should change the other. The Vauxhall engineer said he's happy or the old Clutch to go with the new Flywheel.

What do you think?

yeah its usually changed together but it may be ok since you dont have too many miles on clock
when its changed together its after around 100K miles or more

I said the same to them but the technician said its fine so I will trust his word. I have asked for all of this in writing encase 6 months down the line it all breaks again and the blame is on me.

They have advised me to change the clutch with the flywheel but I will have to pay for this as the part is not broken. Even though like you said Matt they "should" be done together.

I am also going to contact Vauxhall and complain as they "should" replace both of these parts together plus they have had my car for a week now and still no work done.

Changing the flywheel without clutch is the same as changing brake disks yet leaving old brake pads :)
