Why am I able to adjust these?

Postby M1chaelR » Wed Jan 11, 2017 8:23 pm

Discovered I could adjust these just now as I'm trying to find the cause of the noise from the boot. Why would these be adjustable and should they be screwed all the way in? I've put them to the position I think they were in before I fiddled with them.

Aren't they adjustable to ensure correct fitment of the boot lid or bonnet, you will probably have some there too. I would wind them out until the boot doesn't shut, then wind them in a little. Have a look at the shutlines to make sure all is square

Thanks, I noticed one of the shutlines was slightly out so maybe they're not in the correct position. It might explain some of the noise as well. Will give that a try tomorrow.

I'm happy to report that adjusting these properly fixes the flexing noise that I've been experiencing. Result!
